All Work and No Play

I have no idea why I'm so tired this week. You would think that this would have been the best week ever. As you all already know I don't hate my job, but I do hate my work place, so Sunday I was dreading Monday and procrastinating doing anything for this week. Not to mention that my plan to review TAKS for the next couple weeks and build fluency was all torn to hell since our copy machine is broken. Then the most amazing thing happened (drum roll): My boss called out for 3 days!!! I imagine that this must be what a sinner's reprieve from hell must be like. We even had a few low-key days, I have no reason to be about to hit the keyboard while I type.

It must be the fact that I've worked six days a week for the past month. I've been at school teaching and re-teaching from 7:30 until 5 3 days a week. On the days we don't have to tutor, we're in a meeting or worse just having to sit and listen to a tirade about what we aren't doing to make learning important to the kids. Never mind that when you don't have to feed yourself because you're on what we used to call "assistance", you really don't need to learn. That is another soap box. I'm hoping that this weekend can be a break. I'm doing nothing, I'm even going to get my plans done Friday so that I take no work home. Maybe we should do it like the French, they have four weeks of vacation a year.

I agree! can we also take a 2 hour lunch like the French and get trashed on wine before we go back to work? I think it would make us... if not productive... more...tolerable. :)
